- עֲוֵיI. ch. sam( Pi. עִיוָּה to subvert, lay waste), to curve. Targ. Ps. 59:5 עד לא עַוְויָן ed. Lag. (oth. ed. על לא עַוְיָן) without making a curve (deviation) (Ms. עֲוָויָא). Af. אַעֲוֵי to be wrong. Ib. 106:6 (ed. Lag. עותנא, v. עֲוַת). Ithpe. אִתְעֲוֵי to be wronged. Targ. Prov. 18:19 (v., however, עֲדַר II).
